Resources for international students
Studying in Australia is an exciting opportunity to learn, grow and experience a new culture. This page brings together essential information, services and resources to support international students throughout their studies.
International students have access to a wide range of support:
- Student Experience and Academic Support teams
- 24/7 multi-lingual Medical, safety and mental health services via our partner provider Sonder
- Language, learning and academic skills support
- Advice on enrolment, fees and visa related matters
Are you aware of the recent visa changes?
The Australian Government recently changed where some temporary visa holders can apply for a further Student visa. Under the new rules, some students may need to be outside Australia when they lodge their application and when the visa is granted.
These changes will not affect everyone. We recommend that you check your current visa end date through VEVO and compare it with your expected course completion date. If your visa expires before your expected course completion date, you may need a further visa to complete your studies, and the new rules may affect where you can apply for that visa.
If you are impacted, we are here to help you.
Subject to eligibility, individual assessment and approval under ALG or Ikon’s enrolment policies, impacted students can seek support via an adjusted study plan, Leave of Absence and a travel bursary to assist with the cost of travelling offshore.
Please seek advice promptly from a registered migration agent or Australian legal practitioner before changing your study load, apply for a Leave of Absence or making travel arrangements.
