Eligibility timeline for end-of-year 2026 ceremonies
The steps that each provider is required to take will vary, however, the eligibility deadline, ceremony deadline and ceremony dates are the same for all students.
Ikon
Result release date: 11 September 2026
This is the date that your final marks are made available to you.
*Excludes supplementary results
Review & Approval period: 11 September 2026 – 14 October 2026
Following the results release there is a period of time to allow for review to confirm that each student has successfully met all requirements of the course This can take between one to four weeks.
During this time the following steps will be taken:
- Grade Reviewed by your Head of School and the Dean
- Academic Board will approve for the qualifications for conferral
- Board of Directors formally confers qualifications (Conferral is the official act of granting an award to a student)
Eligibility Deadline: 14 October 2026
The eligibility deadline is the date by which all potential graduands must have met the following criteria:
- Completed all the subjects for their course
- Qualification reviewed and conferred
- Outstanding fees paid
- USI provided and verified
Students who have not met the criteria by this date, will be moved to the next graduation.
Registration close: 11 November 2026
This is the final date for eligible students to RSVP for their graduation ceremony through our event partners website.
Formal invitations are distributed in the week following the eligibility deadline.
All students are required to RSVP even if they do not wish to attend a ceremony.
Graduands who fail to RSVP will not be sent any further invitations to future ceremonies.

Marking Period: 19 September 2026 – 4 October 2026
This is a two week period starting from the end of each term.
*Excludes supplementary assessments
Quality Period: 4 October 2026 – 14 October 2026
Following the marking period there is a period of time to allow for the student admin team to conduct assessment quality checks and verify that each student has successfully met all requirements of their course.
Eligibility Deadline: 14 October 2026
The eligibility deadline is the date by which all potential graduands must have met the following criteria:
- Completed all the subjects for their course
- Qualification passed quality checks and been verified
- Outstanding fees paid
- USI provided and verified
Students who have not met the criteria by this date, will be moved to the next graduation.

You will receive an email once your documents are available in My eQuals.
Graduates who attend a ceremony will also receive a printed Testamur on the day.
Graduates who graduate in absentia (do not attend a ceremony), can request a printed Testamur (fees apply)

FAQs – Eligibility & Academic Documents
Who is eligible to graduate?
You are eligible to graduate once you have successfully completed all required subjects in your course, your results have been reviewed and approved, and you have met all graduation eligibility requirements by the published eligibility deadline. Ikon students must also have their award formally conferred by the Board of Directors.
What happens if I don’t meet the Eligibility Deadline?
If you do not meet the eligibility criteria by the Eligibility Deadline, you will automatically be moved to the next available graduation ceremony.
Do supplementary or late results affect my eligibility?
Yes. Supplementary or late results may delay your eligibility, as final outcomes must be confirmed before the Graduand Approval and Eligibility deadlines.
What is “conferral” and why is it important?
Conferral is the official approval and granting of your award by the governing board of Ikon. You must have your award conferred before you can graduate or receive your qualification.
Do I need a Unique Student Identifier (USI) to graduate?
Yes. You must provide a valid USI to receive your qualification. Without a USI, your award cannot be issued.
What fees must be paid before I can graduate?
All outstanding tuition and administrative fees must be paid in full to be eligible to graduate.
How will I know if I am eligible to graduate?
Eligible students will receive an official graduation invitation via their Ikon | ALG student email account.
Can I receive my academic transcript before graduation?
Transcripts may be requested after results are officially released and finalised, subject to standard processing timelines.
When will I receive my award certificate?
Award certificates are issued after your award has been conferred. Delivery details depend on whether you attend the ceremony or graduate in absentia.
What name will appear on my award certificate?
Your full legal name, as recorded in the student portal, will appear on your certificate. You must ensure this is correct before the eligibility deadline.
Will attending the ceremony affect when I receive my qualification?
No. Ceremony attendance does not affect the conferral or issuance of your award.
If I have already collected my testamur, what will I receive on the day?
Graduates will receive their testamur during the ceremony.
If you have already collected your testamur, you will be presented with a photographable copy on the day.
This allows you to participate in photos with your peers, but it is not your official testamur.
How can I access my documents digitally?
Once your award is conferred, you can manage and share your qualification securely via My eQuals, our official digital document platform. This portal allows you to securely access your official Ikon documents online.
Can I receive my testamur before graduation?
You will receive your Australian Higher Education Graduation Statement (AHEGS) or Testamur (certificate) exclusively at your graduation ceremony, after they have been officially conferred and finalised.
Your Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma is typically certified by Ikon and conferred by the governing bodies of Ikon twice a year.
Once you have completed all your subjects and course requirements, you will be eligible to receive the following documents:
- Higher Education Completion Letter
- Higher Education Official Transcript
These documents can be used to apply for professional memberships and employment while you wait for graduation.
If you are unable to attend your graduation ceremony, you can request to have your documents mailed to you, or you can arrange to pick them up from a designated campus. Please reach out to us to make these arrangements.
